All Done

I appreciate CML for being a leader in lifelong learning. I am glad that I have had this experience and would love to continue with some more topics.(hint) I hope I will be able to use all I learned in the future, whether with customers or for myself. I loved learning about and using Wikis. Since I was already using Flickr, I want to say, I am glad others got to experience Flickr. Regarding improvements, I would suggest more time to complete. I am glad we did have extra time, but I know some staff still did not get to finish.

I would love for CML to invest in staff again by offering something similar to this in the future. I think Learn and Play got staff more experience with technology and it got staff helping each other.

MOLDI

I have never downloaded an ebook because it was not compatible with my iPod. Now that it is, I am going to give it a try. I browsed the ebooks and put myself on reserve for a title. I tryied downloading an audio book and I got an error. I am going to try on my home computer now that some books are compatiblw with iPod. The selection was only ok. I did not find many current titles that I was looking for in the catalog.

Podcasts

I have never downloaded or listened to a podcast. On my home computer I have Itunes, but I never have explored the podcasts. I went to the website http://www.podcastpickle.com/ I found a podcast that I really like and will subscribe too. The podcast is Grammar girl. I also looked through some of the Hall of Fame and Top 100 podcasts. I will give podcasting a try.

YouTube

I like YouTube. I find that it feeds my voyeristic hunger. I love to watch the wedding dances. I like that people think out of the box and don't have to waltz for their first dance as a married couple. In May, I read "The Last Lecture." I was so inspired and would love to be just like Randy. I would love to live my life the way he did. I had my entire family read the book and my mom has had her friends read it too.

Tool box of web 2.0 tools

I never knew this existed. I had already explored the Library thing and made a book shelf, so I explored something different. I stumbled upon;) StumbleUpon. This website is cool. After registering, you pick topics that you are interested in and the website shows you a page. You click on thumbs up for "I like it" or thumbs down. It starts to remember your tags and it gets smarter by bringing up website that you like.

Web 2.0 award winning site

I like oodle. I am always looking for a deal. I want to buy a sizzix and found one on oodle much cheaper than in the stores. When I get home, I am going to email the person and see about getting a machine. I do hope the seller's on this website are not crooks!

Google Docs

I like Google docs. I got a gmail address when we started Learn and Play. I never had time to explore what was available to use. I created a google doc for my monthly budget.

Playing with Wikis

I liki Wiki 2. As I played with the learn and play wiki, I realized how much information was there. I loved reading all the CML favorites. When reading that wiki, I learned a lot about my fellow staff members. After the 23 things are done, I would like to see a link on CMLsi to the learn & play wiki and we continue to post and learn more about our fellow staff.

Wiki

I liki Wiki!! I see potential here. As i was looking trough some of the articles, I saw a library use it for their adult summer reading club. Wouldn't that be interesting? I agree with several people, this would be a good readers' advisory tool, especially if each branch had their own blog and each staff member from that branch could update as needed.

Also, personally, I would use it to plan a family reunion, a girls weekend or a get together.

Web 2.0

When I first started to read the blog about Web 2.0, I was thinking what in the world is this about. After reading some of the posts on the OCLC newsletter, I thought, this is what i had been thinking. In regards to the article "Away from the Icebergs," I think CML has already seen the iceberg and has steered its way past. I think our webpage is wonderful. We can download books, we have ILL, able to reserve any book in the sytem and able to talk to a librarian 24/7 just shows how CML is ahead of the game.

The second point of the article, Reliance on user education, really stood out to me. In most of our branches we staff for technology hours, but I believe we could do more in technology training for curtomers. I know this is on our tactical plan, so I hope we really get involved with the comunity and help people learn to use the technology that is out there.

Del.icio.us

I thought the getting started video was informative. I really don't see the point of del.icio.us.

Twitter

Well, I am not sure I would use Twitter. I am not a person that is on the computer regularly. I found a few people to follow because they seemed interesting. I might use twitter if my family was not close and I did not talk to them everyday.

Library Thing

I liked searching in Library Thing. I thought it was difficult putting into my blog. With help from Ronda, I was able to finally add the Library Thing. I also searched through Shelfari. I like Shelfari more than Library Thing. I liked the option of picking my shelf.

Imagine a day........

I created this word cloud in Celebration of my sister, Cynthia. I love you,Cindy!!

The image generator I used was Wordles.
title="Wordle: Imagine"> src="http://wordle.net/thumb/wrdl/214278/Imagine"
style="padding:4px;border:1px solid #ddd">

Feeds

I found using the bloglines search tool easier to use. The other search tools did not bring up feeds that I would use. I was searching for feeds for cardmaking. I found some interesting feeds that led to some blogs for people who have some card ideas. Now, when I rountinely visit a webpage, I look for the RSS feed button to subscibe.

Technology?!

I really like this concept of Learn and Play. It is amazing how much I am learning. I love the Flickr website. I have been exploring that website for about a year now. Each time I get on that website, I think "I wish I can take beautiful pictures." I am even going to try an download my own pictures to the website.

Montager

I have finished Thing #6. I explored Montager on Flickr. I like the idea of making pictures with pictures. I do wish the the picture was more defined. I searched waterfalls, so take a look! http://www.deviousgelatin.com/montager/image.php

Hi All,

I am off to Tennesse. I am going to brave the Little Pigeon River and go whitewater rafting, visit the Great Smoky Mountains and have fun with the family. I am looking forward to coming back to work and "playing":)
